How should I act during an earthquake? Where should I go?
Once the earthquake starts, immediately stop whatever you're doing and drop to the ground. Take cover by staying under a sturdy table or anywhere that can protect your head. Stay still and hold on until the shaking stops.
If you are indoors, stay inside until earthquake stops, stay away from objects that can fall on you.
If outdoors, stay away from buildings, trees and power lines.
If you are in a vehicle, stop at a safe place and stay in the car. Once the earthquake stops, proceed with caution and avoid going to damaged areas.
If trapped under debris, don't light matches, flares or any flame. Stay put and dont kick up dust, also cover your mouth with a handkerchief or clothing. Lastly, tap on a pipe or wall for rescuers to locate you, shout only if needed.
